The Dog Behind the Balm

Lloyd is a 4-year-old Mastiff-Pitbull mix and the beating heart of Sunwood Growers. Not long ago, he took his mom Corrina and dad Ryan on a fishing and camping adventure in the Eastern Sierras. Lloyd, being Lloyd, zoomed around the whole trip — exploring every trail, sniffing every rock, and living his absolute best life. But all that high-altitude adventure left him with chapped, dry lips and irritated skin. Corrina and Ryan looked everywhere for something safe and natural to soothe him, and came up empty.

So they made it themselves. That's how Sunwood Paws was born.

When he's not conquering the mountains, Lloyd heads to the beach with Corrina to visit The Wedge — the legendary Newport Beach break where only the big dogs dare to body surf. Lloyd, naturally, qualifies. He charges the shore break like he owns it. A true salty dog through and through.

Back home, Ryan — despite a packed schedule — makes sure Lloyd eats fresh, homemade food every single week. Real ingredients, made with real love. It's the same philosophy that drives everything we make at Sunwood: if it's not good enough for our own, it's not good enough for yours.

On the farm, Lloyd keeps busy chasing lizards through the garden, staging elaborate play sessions with the chickens and ducks, and going on two daily walks to the local high school — where the baseball team coaches and players adore him so much they've made him their unofficial mascot, handing him a ball every time he shows up. He takes the role very seriously.
